The pair have collaborated on an ambient album for Hospital Productions.
Function and Vatican Shadow will release a collaborative album called Games Have Rules on September 22nd.
The LP sees the producers leaving behind their signature styles—Function’s steely brand of techno and Vatican Shadow’s noisier fare—to explore ambient sounds. Apparently the record was put together in both New York and Berlin, with recording sessions taking place in the early hours of the morning. New York’s skyline proved to be of particular inspiration—the pair have chosen a black and white image of the Empire State Building for the sleeve. The record will come out through Vatican Shadow’s label, Hospital Productions, on CD, digital and double-vinyl formats.
There will be three Games Have Rules release parties: Berghain in Berlin on September 14th, New York’s Output on September 19th and fabric in London on November 22nd.
